For a first in my lifetime (well, the first I can remember), I marveled on one of the most beautiful displays of God's universe. A Blue Moon occurs when there is a second full moon during a single month. This happens about once every 2.5 years. But the fact that this is happening on a New Years makes it an even more rare occurrence, being that the last time it happened was in 1990! I went outside around midnight and spent about an hour capturing images. I used various shutter-speeds as slow as 20" to get the desired results. I also decided to grab a quick video of it, posted here. If you are outside on New Year's Eve you should be able to catch one last glimpse of it!
